Job Information

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

This position is represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 302, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.
 

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance & Operations

HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Sunday, hours vary, including nights

LOCATION: 5701 Northwood Drive

 

 

Example of Duties

Under the general supervision, operates various types of light equipment, and performs manual labor to accomplish street maintenance activities including but not limited to: patching potholes, replace/repair sidewalks, cut brush, and snow removal from trails and sidewalks. Assist in the equipment maintenance including oiling, greasing, and changing wear surfaces on various types of equipment. Perform other required duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and one (1) year of experience in the operation of light equipment.

Must possess and/or obtain:

  • Valid State of Alaska Commercial Driver’s License, Class B (CDLB), with Tank endorsement at time of hire.
  • Satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
  • Satisfactory drug screening at time of hire.
  • Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
Preference:
  • Flagger certification.
