Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.

DEPARTMENT: Public Transportation 

HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: 3600 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Ave 

Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Example of Duties

Primary tasks will focus on research, reconciliation, and reporting of data to provide accounting support for capital, grant, and operating expenditures. Will reconcile, track, coordinate, and report on various activities to include, but not limited to daily force accounts, service passes, Performance Values Results (PVRs) reporting, donations, charters, revenue, expenditures, monthly and annual National Transit Database (NTD) reporting, and Federal triennial activities. Additional tasks include preparing shopping carts, journal entries, payable activity, and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and six (6) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience.

OR

Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline and four (4) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience.

OR

A certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and two (2) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline and two (2) years of professional accounting, payroll, or similar work experience.

All Applicants Must possess and/or obtain:

• Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
