thread's Book Party in the Park

Come party with us and get ready for school! Join thread as we celebrate early learning and healthy child development at this FREE outdoor event. Your family will enjoy live music, story time, snacks, giveaways, games, and lots of fun. Best of all — each child goes home with free books to keep and read!

The Book Party in the Park kicks off at 4 pm with a performance by Alaska Native drum and dance group Acilquq. Then don't miss out on story times with special guests and live music by the Timbre Music Band throughout the evening. Your family will also enjoy:

• cardboard box construction zone

• giveaways
• crafts
• free children's books
• information and resources on child development and school readiness from local partners

Parking is at Clark Middle School, one block east of the event. The Book Party in the Park is held rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.

Donate Children's Books

thread accepts donations of new or gently used children's books year-round at our Anchorage office. In the summer we also partner with the community to host book drives. Contact Hayley if you have children's books to donate!
