Subway® Restaurant opens in Nenana, Alaska
Nenana, Alaska (May 15, 2024) – Elijah and Erin Verhagen are opening a new Subway® restaurant located at 102 W. 8th Street, Unit 3, in Nenana, Alaska on Wednesday, May 15th, at 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
“I grew up in Nenana, and I am beyond thrilled to give back to the wonderful Nenana community by serving delicious Subway® subs, wraps, salads, cookies, soup and more,” Elijah said. “Thanks for your support, friends and neighbors.”
Nenana Subway® will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 Noon to 7 p.m. Catering, Online ordering and ordering on the Subway® App will become active later in May. In the meantime, customers can call 907-888-9824 to make a to-go order, or text in a detailed order to the same number. A drive-thru will be opening later this summer.
Steve Adams and his mother, Bobbie Scribner, opened the first Subway® Restaurant in Alaska over 36 years ago. The iconic restaurant opened on April 15, 1988, in an Anchorage strip mall at the corner of the Benson and the Seward Highway and is still operating in the same location today.

New locations in Glennallen, Delta Junction, and now Nenana ensure that a Subway® Restaurant is easily available and convenient for Alaskans and our visitors anywhere along the main highway route, from Homer and Seward to Fairbanks and Valdez,” said Steve Adams.
