Standing Together for Change

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time to shine a light on an issue that affects far too many Alaskans. In our state, the statistics are staggering: 1 in 2 women and 1 in 4 men will experience domestic violence, sexual assault, or both in their lifetime. These numbers reflect a crisis that impacts individuals, families, and communities across Alaska.

At STAR, we believe that awareness is the first step toward prevention and healing. This month, we encourage everyone to learn more, speak out, and support survivors. Whether it’s attending a local event, sharing resources, or simply checking in on a friend, your actions matter.

Need Support? Help Is Available.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. The Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (ANDVSA) provides a statewide map of resources to connect individuals with support services in their area.

Together, we can create safer communities and support healing for all Alaskans.
