Mission Accomplished! Capstone Clinic to close statewide COVID testing sites after a successful 2+ year delivery program across Alaska
Wednesday, June 15, 2022 – Wasilla, Alaska Capstone Clinic will be ending its COVID-19 testing services and closing its satellite testing clinics and
airport/kiosk locations across Alaska on Thursday, June 30th, 2022.

“We’re very proud of our statewide medical team who helped mobilize and demobilize our testing centers across Alaska with great success,” says Capstone CEO Dennis Spencer. “Capstone was the first private healthcare provider in Alaska to launch mobile and drive-through COVID-19 testing sites to help Alaskans stay at work and continue to travel. We expedited expansion of the testing process from Deadhorse to Dillingham and Bristol Bay to airports across thousands of miles from the Panhandle to Southcentral, and from the Interior to the North Slope.”

As COVID testing requirements and public restrictions per federal, state, and municipal policies are continuing to sunset, Federal and State health department funding and reimbursements have also been terminated so henceforth private sector testing sites receive no compensation for services rendered.

“This is the appropriate time, as we all celebrate the re-opening of transit, business, and personal space and recreation, to close COVID testing sites and get back to normalcy,” adds Matt Jones, Director of Non-Clinical Operations, and the manager of the comprehensive statewide COVID testing program and clinics. “All told, at our peak, over 400 Capstone team members managed 21 testing and vaccination sites across the state, and tested over 600,000 people. We appreciate the praise received from the State of Alaska, Municipality of Anchorage, and federal and business organizations for whom we delivered testing services during a restraining pandemic. I’m thankful for our team and our patients. Mission accomplished!”

Capstone Clinic was founded in Wasilla, Alaska in 2003 by Dr. Wade Erickson, MD. and is veteran-owned by a team of Alaskan physicians.
