Don Young Alaska Job Corps to host Workforce Summit
Local, regional, national employers invited to a discussion on career training, and workforce.
 
Palmer, Alaska, May 2, 2024 – The Don Young Alaska Job Corps Center is inviting local, regional and national employers and workforce and community leaders to be a part of an employer roundtable event at the campus on Thursday, May 2, 2024. During the roundtable discussions, Don Young Alaska Job Corps Center staff will meet with groups of employers representing similar industries to learn more about their hiring needs. Additionally, center leadership will discuss with the employer’s ways they can collaborate to ensure Job Corps graduates leave the program with the most up-to-date skills and knowledge. 

Don Young Alaska Job Corps provides career training and education to students interested in careers in Welding, Building Construction Technology, Electrical, Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Culinary Arts, and Security and Protective Services. 

During the event, representatives from various Companies will share their perspectives on partnering with Job Corps to provide students with Work Based Learning, Apprenticeship, and Post- Graduate Job placement opportunities.
