FedEx Express announced today that it is adding a new, permanent night shift to its operations at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC).

“FedEx Express is adding a second shift to sort import cargo at the Anchorage International Airport and is looking to fill 230 positions,” said Dale Shaw, Managing Director for FedEx Express in Alaska and Hawaii.

"This is great news from one of AEDC's original members," said Bill Popp, AEDC President & CEO. "This signals a significant expansion of FedEx operations in Anchorage and creates new local jobs with quality benefits."

This is the first time in the history of FedEx's operations in Anchorage that it has added a permanent night shift. The company is a longtime leader in international cargo at the airport.

ANC is the sixth largest airport in the world in terms of cargo throughput and is the third largest airport in the United States for landed weight of cargo aircraft. More than 3.48 million tons of air cargo landed at the airport in 2020, a 16% increase over the record setting volumes in 2019.
