“As a result of the ending of federal and state reimbursements, we were forced to shut down our testing sites by June 30th,” notes Matt Jones, Director of Non-Clinical Operations and manager of the comprehensive statewide COVID testing program and clinics.

“As we notified Alaskans of the discontinuation of testing outside of our clinics for Capstone patients, we received numerous calls from members of the public and Alaskans asking for help and support to at least keep one testing site open in the Valley and Anchorage. We assessed costs and agreed to re-open two of our heavy-trafficked testing sites in Wasilla and South Anchorage. We heard from Alaskans and responded because we really want to be of service to everyone in need, particularly to keep COVID in check and hopefully prevented from spreading again.”

Capstone Clinic was founded in Wasilla, Alaska in 2003 by Dr. Wade Erickson, MD. and is veteran-owned by a team of Alaskan physicians. Capstone manages multiple clinics in the Southcentral communities of Wasilla, Palmer, Eagle River, Anchorage and Kenai, along with a clinic in the Deadhorse Aviation Center on the North Slope.
