Anchorage Chamber Announces Annual Citywide Cleanup & Kickoff

ANCHORAGE CHAMBER ANNOUNCES ANNUAL CITYWIDE CLEANUP & KICKOFF!

May 3 through May 31, 2025

ANCHORAGE - The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2025 Citywide Cleanup presented by Matson, May 3rd through May 31st. Each year, thousands of volunteers throughout the Municipality of Anchorage unite to collect and dispose of millions of pounds of trash from Anchorage, Eagle River, and Girdwood. In 2024, over 5,000 registered volunteers collected over half a million pounds of trash.

The community is invited to celebrate the Citywide Cleanup Kickoff presented by Matson this Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Westchester Lagoon from Noon to 3 pm. The Municipality of Anchorage Solid Waste Services (SWS) will provide a limited number of dump passes (limited one per household), Northern Waste will have a dumpster onsite for bag dropoff, plus an SWS recycling trailer for glass and plastic.

In addition, participants can upload their cleanup photos throughout the month to Matson’s Cleanup Giveaway at matsoncleanupgiveaway.com/Anchorage for a chance to win over $5,000 in prizes courtesy of Matson.

To get involved, register at CitywideCleanup.org and use the interactive map to find partner locations where the well-known orange bags can be picked up, including your neighborhood Fred Meyer. See the map locations with our disposal icons for Citywide Cleanup dedicated dumpsters, including:
 

• Anchorage Regional Landfill (Eagle River), 15500 Eagle River Loop, Mon.-Fri. 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Rabbit Creek Elementary (Back West Parking Lot) 13650 Lake Otis Parkway, 3:00 to 7:00 pm Monday-Friday, and Sat. & Sun., 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
• Alaska Premier Auctions & Appraisals, 325 W Potter Dr., Mon. thru Fri., 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Central Transfer Station (Residential Side) 1310 E. 56th Ave., Saturday, 8:00 am to ​5:00 pm
