Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager reports to the Senior Director of Development. The Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing corporate, and if identified foundation, partnerships to drive revenue and engagement in support of Covenant House Alaska’s mission. Key responsibilities include securing funding, fostering strategic corporate relationships, and expanding corporate social responsibility initiatives. The Manager will cultivate partnerships with key decision-makers, oversee donor stewardship, and develop customized engagement strategies that align corporate giving priorities with Covenant House Alaska’s mission. This position collaborates with different departments to enhance fundraising efforts and increase organizational visibility within the corporate sector.

 

Depending on the structure of the team, this position may oversee Development Team support staff.

 

Essential Functions

Corporate Partnerships & Business Development

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage a portfolio of corporate partners and (possibly some foundation) donors, securing funding and in-kind support.
  • Develop corporate engagement strategies, including sponsorships, cause marketing, employee giving, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Negotiate and secure high value corporate partnerships that align with Covenant House’s mission and revenue goals.
  • Represent Covenant House at corporate networking events, industry conferences, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and board members to leverage networks and identify new partnership opportunities.

Corporate Foundations & Grant Management

  • Research, identify, and apply for corporate grants and philanthropic funding opportunities.
  • Develop compelling grant proposals, impact reports, and funding presentations to secure and retain corporate foundation support.
  • Track grant deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and successful renewals.
  • Work closely with program staff to align grant proposals with programmatic needs and strategic initiatives.

Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for key corporate donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and stewardship.
  • Develop and execute volunteer engagement opportunities for corporate employees, including service days and special events.
  • Manage corporate participation in signature fundraising events, such as Sleep Out, ensuring high-level donor involvement and retention.
  • Partner with marketing and communications teams to develop tailored content for corporate audiences and highlight partnership impact.

Cross Functional Collaboration & Strategic Growth

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to maximize corporate engagement and fundraising impact.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in corporate philanthropy, CSR, and nonprofit fundraising.
  • Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Every Action) to track donor interactions, measure engagement, and optimize fundraising strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of fundraising campaigns, corporate sponsorship proposals, and donor communications.

Administrative Functions

  • Attend various community and CHA events outside of regular business hours.
  • Create a plan of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship and then faithfully and, on a timely basis, execute that plan to retain and upgrade constituents based on annual KPIs
  • Ensure that information regarding donors and prospective donors are recorded in CHA’s and CHI’s database. Provide CHA and CHI with summary data, as requested. 
  • Attend fundraising seminars and or training courses that are relevant to the position.
  • Collaborate with the CHA & CHI Development Teams to enhance relationships and create greater fundraising and outreach possibilities.
  • Participate in departmental portfolio review process and be a partner in maintaining an organized system for donor stewardship by updating constituent records, as appropriate.
  • Under the direction of the development leadership team provide special event support and actively assist during the event from start to finish.
  • Participate in CHI-led meetings in support of CHA’s participation in CHI’s Major/Planned Giving Donor Cultivation Program
  • Keep supervisor fully informed at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education                                                                                

Bachelor’s degree required in Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum five years’ experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Strong ability to relate effectively with staff, youth, and community agencies of varied cultural backgrounds and behaviors.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational and time-management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated abilities in business development, fundraising, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to inspire anyone about our mission and provide them with a unique experience as a supporter.
  • Abilites and skillset in securing and managing six-figure corporate partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of corporate giving trends, CSR initiatives, and nonprofit fundraising best practices.
  • Ability to adhere to multiple deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Covenant House Mission, culture, philosophy, history and tradition(s) and the underlying values upon which the Agency is founded to the staff, youth and the community we serve.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Donor Database platforms, CRM’s, SharePoint, Every Action and other software platforms as needed.
  • Outstanding oral and verbal communication skills, articulate and persuasive, with well-honed relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently, using good judgment, and common sense, and function well under stressful conditions to meet all funding deadlines.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical standards.
  • Is approachable, honest, self-motivated, dedicated, adaptable, builds rapport well, practices attentive and active listening, maintains confidentiality, demonstrates initiative, sound judgment and commitment to on-going learning.

  • Possess a current state of Alaska Driving License and acceptable driving record assessed through CHA’s Drivers Acceptability Matrix
  • Pass federal, state, and local background check investigations.

Working Conditions

  • Position is based in an office setting. Position will at times work off-site during events, both indoors and outdoors. Must have the ability to accommodate a wide range of strenuous activity during the events, including standing for long periods of time, walking long distances, etc.
  • Noise level is mild to moderate, consistent with office and residential environments.
  • Must have the ability to observe details within close range.
  • Must be able to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move within the office to access files and office equipment.
  • Consistently operates a computer and related office machinery.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairways within a wide variety of facilities with and possibly without the assistance of an elevator.
  • Must be able to occasionally handle objects up to 40 pounds.
