The Staff Accountant plays a key role in keeping financial operations running smoothly, handling all aspects of full-cycle accounting with precision and efficiency. From managing month-end closing to preparing and posting journal entries, this role ensures that every financial detail is accurate and accounted for. How will your day-to-day look?
Bringing a strong understanding of GAAP, this role ensures accuracy and compliance in financial processes. From preparing journal entries and reconciling bank statements to managing month-end and year-end closings, attention to detail is key. Reviewing financial statements, making necessary accruals and reclassifications, and analyzing budget variances require critical thinking and sound judgment.
Daily cash receipts are reconciled precisely, identifying and correcting potential errors while collaborating with sales teams to resolve discrepancies. Support extends beyond accounting functions, with participation in the budgeting process, maintaining organized financial records, and serving as a backup for accounts payable and payroll processing. This role also serves as a backup for the AP Analyst, so a working knowledge of that role is a must. With a mix of analytical work and hands-on financial management, this role is vital in keeping financial operations running smoothly.
 
You need: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field.
  • Five years of accounting/finance or related experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • To be a self-starter/pro-active, and a team player with the ability to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and work effectively and efficiently under time pressure.
  • Ability to work with interruptions, strict deadlines, and minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, or a background in Sage is helpful
