Walk 4 Warmth

United Way of Anchorage is proud to host the 2022 Walk 4 Warmth from March 1 through March 14 – a fundraiser to help our most vulnerable neighbors stay warm and housed. We had hoped to bring the community together to walk together, but for the health and safety of everyone, we invite you to participate virtually and step up to support families and individuals struggling to cover the basics such as rent and utilities. Since the beginning of the pandemic, over 9,000 of our neighbors in need have been helped with rent, mortgage, and utility payments. Two years later, federal pandemic relief is running out, but the pandemic continues to take its toll. Recovery is far away for many and hardships are mounting for many hard-working but low-income families in our city. Your help is needed now more than ever. MATCH ALERT: You can double your impact. The first $10,000 in donations during the Walk 4 Warmth event will be matched 1:1 thanks to our presenting sponsor ENSTAR. This year’s Walk for Warmth will conclude with a FaceBook Live Thank You Celebration at noon on Monday, March 14th. Document your participation with the hashtags #Walk4Warmth and #LiveUnitedANC. Individuals, families and team participants will be highlighted at the closing celebration. There are so many ways to participate. Use the suggested downtown walking route or take advantage of Anchorage’s numerous trails. Don’t feel like walking? No problem! You can skate, ski, run, dance, cycle or even swim — it’s your choice. You can even donate to support the community right from your couch if you can’t get out. When we UNITE to thrive, we can ensure all of our neighbors stay warm and housed.
