If we do our job well today, you will leave: Understanding Total Rewards Strategy, knowing what crafting one entails, understanding the role of Cash Compensation within a Total Rewards Strategy, and thinking about new ideas for using benefits to differentiate your organization in the labor market.

Thomas has a passion for helping businesses hire, retain, and engage high-performing workforces. Following a rewarding career as a human resources leader for companies such as Alaska Communications Systems, Chenega Corporation, and UIC, that passion inspired Thomas to launch the company now known as Alera ConnectHR.

In addition to leading his team of professionals at Alera ConnectHR, Thomas provides employment strategy, engagement, compensation, and performance management services to his clients. He is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP®) and Society of Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Oregon.

Throughout his career, Thomas has been an active member in his community and industry, taking on leadership roles in SHRM, on nonprofit boards, and in business-led efforts to address high healthcare costs. He prides himself on earning a place as a trusted professional to his clients, and as a respected leader for his outstanding team of professionals at Alera ConnectHR.

A key member of the sales and business development team who builds relationships with prospects and clients, Terry specializes in executive compensation strategies and disability plans for highly compensated individuals. She’s a 35-year veteran of the employee benefits industry and has been providing valuable insights and solutions at Wilson Albers since 1997.

Terry holds the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS®) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefits, along with the Group Benefits Disability Specialist (GBDS) certification from the National Underwriter Company. As part of the National Association of Health Underwriters and a trustee for the Health Underwriters Political Action Committee, she regularly meets with members of Congress on healthcare issues.

Even though she attended the University of Alaska and has two grown children who graduated from UAA, Terry is a huge Nebraska Cornhuskers fan—she grew up in the state. In her free time, she loves camping, fishing, and exploring with her significant other and their black lab.
