Starting in 2005 as an impromptu block event to allow a terminally-ill five year old boy to experience one last Trick or Treat, this event has grown into a memorial fundraiser that supports Hospice of Anchorage, Make-A-Wish Alaska & Washington, and the Seattle and Anchorage Ronald McDonald Houses. This year it will be celebrated in participating neighborhoods in Anchorage, Wasilla, Palmer and Eagle River. Anyone who has experienced Trick or Treating with late October Alaskan weather knows what a borderline miserable experience it can be for our kids here (and their parents)! By holding it in early September, the kids get to wear their costumes without cold weather gear. The 17th Annual TOTITH will be on Sunday, September 8th. For most neighborhoods, there will be an optional kickoff party running from 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM, with door-to-door trick or treating from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM.
