United Way has recently adopted a new strategic plan to unite caring people to give, volunteer and take action to solve our community's toughest challenge. Members will hear about the organization's ambitious new goals to improve the community that we all live and work in and hear about some of the innovative new programs like

Clark Halvorson is the president and chief executive officer of United Way of Anchorage. He brings over 25 years of non-profit and public health experience at the local, state, tribal, and national levels where he has focused on whole system approaches to improving health and supporting healthy places where people live and play.
Prior to leading United Way of Anchorage, Clark served as the Assistant Secretary within the Department of Health for the State of Washington, leading the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and working to ensure a coordinated and effective response across their health care system.
Clark has deep roots in Alaska as he spent his formative years in Anchorage and across the state. Some of his strongest memories are those of hearing his father preach at his church on Jewel Lake Road, spending summers on the Kenai River and fishing out of Homer.
With a deep passion to see public, private and non-profit sectors work together, Clark is a leader in finding innovation, improving service delivery, and seeking change that supports growing and diverse communities.
