Anand serves as the President and CEO of Alaska Communications, a publicly traded broadband and IT managed services provider. Anand has been with Alaska Communications since August 2006 and has been in his current role since February 2011. He has spent nearly 20 years in the telecom sector.
Anand has led Alaska Communications through a period of intense change and turnaround, and is deeply skilled both as an operator and in driving strategic transformation. In all of this, he is passionate about engaging people and driving a culture that places high premium on transparent communications, fairness, respect and honoring commitments.
Anand is keenly interested in how technology can enable people, businesses and communities achieve their personal, business and social goals. His experience in Alaska has nurtured an appreciation for the importance of community engagement and the critical role of public policy in deploying technology in an affordable and accessible manner.
Anand serves on the board of directors of Premera Blue Cross and US Telecom, the leading industry association for the telecom and broadband sector. Anand is active in the community through his work with the Rotary Club and United Way, having previously served on the board of directors of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation and the board of trustees of the University of Alaska Foundation.
