Hear
Mayor LaFrance discuss the 2026 municipal bonds on the April ballot including investments to take care of what we have, keep the public safe, and build our community's future. The bonds will fund parks and trails projects, critical road and drainage work, traffic calming measures, public safety investments, and upgrades to facilities like the Loussac Library and Performing Arts Center.
Anchorage School District
Superintendent,
Dr. Jharrett Bryantt, and
Chief of Operations,
Jim Anderson, will present an overview of the
2026 School Bond, Proposition 1. The $79.46 million bond, with the smallest projected tax impact in more than 10 years and approximately 50 percent expected state reimbursement, would continue critical security and safety upgrades at more than 20 schools and the student nutrition facility.
The superintendent will also join the mayor to discuss
Proposition 9, the one-time 2026 school tax levy, and explain how ASD will use the funds to hire 80 plus educators and more.
