Established in 2010, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is powered by military service members, civilians, and their families with diverse mission in over 250 career fields.
We may all wear different uniforms, but we are united with a common purpose – Defend the Homeland and Project Power into the Indo-Pacific. Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) has two active duty Air Force wings, one Army Brigade and 55 other tenant units including the 11th Airborne Division and the combined headquarters of Alaskan NORAD Region, Alaskan Command, and 11th Air Force. Our service members protect our nation and our values and are involved in humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and peacekeeping missions around the world.
We are constantly evolving and adapting to new threats and challenges. As a dynamic organization committed to continuous improvement and innovation, we depend on a diverse cadre of service members. While every service member puts on a uniform, they are still individuals who have time to make friends, raise families, travel, pursue hobbies, and volunteer in their local communities.
