CIRI (Cook Inlet Region Inc.) is constructing its $65 million Fire Island Wind Project. It will be Southcentral Alaska’s first utility-scale wind farm and is expected to generate some 48,500 MW-hours of power annually for Chugach Electric Association starting this year.
Ethan Schutt, CIRI’s senior vice president of land and energy development, will talk about the project’s progress and schedule, including construction, installation of an undersea transmission cable to connect the project to Anchorage’s power grid, and the anticipated “first power” date when the project will begin providing commercial power.
Deadline to RSVP online is 5 p.m. Friday.
