Event Description:

Don Krohn, First National Security Officer, presents the latest fraud trends in Alaska, because the bad guys are always looking for new ways to cheat businesses. Members will benefit by learning how these fraudsters are counterfeiting, altering and forging business and personal items. Krohn will also show how to avoid becoming a victim with the latest fraud prevention methods.

PLUS, a short presentation from Rebecca Parker, Executive Director, Anchorage Senior Activity Center.

Don Krohn joined First National Bank Alaska as Security Officer in 2002. During his first three years at the bank, he developed and implemented programs that resulted in an 80 percent reduction in successful criminal attacks against the bank and its customers.

Krohn began his career in law enforcement more than 30 years ago with a four-year stint in the Air Force. From there, he joined the U.S. Customs Service in Chicago, serving 9 years, working mostly on narcotics interdiction. In 1979, the Customs Service transferred Krohn to Anchorage. In 1984, he joined the Anchorage Police Department.

Krohn’s steady advancement in the department placed him in the major crimes unit as a detective specializing in white-collar crime. He spent the last two of his 18 years at APD working as a homicide detective.

Mr. Krohn received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University in Texas, majoring in criminal justice.
