Event Description:
A presentation by Ona Brause, Chief of Staff for Mayor Ethan Berkowitz, outlining details of the 2019 ballot proposal to tax alcohol sales within Anchorage. Includes information about how the tax would be structured, how it would be administered, who it would affect, and where the dedicated annual revenue will be spent to combat the pervasive issues of alcohol and substance abuse, homelessness, and work to increase public safety in Anchorage.

Ona Brause has been part of the Berkowitz Administration since 2015, serving as Deputy Chief of Staff until 2017, when she was appointed to the position of Chief of Staff. Prior to joining the Municipality, Brause worked for the Alaska State Legislature, as a statistical analyst, and as an operations lead for a renewable energy company. She has a degree in Political Science and Statistics from Boston University.
