Anchorage School District Superintendent, Dr. Jharrett Bryantt, will deliver a back-to-school update on how ASD geared up students and teachers for success after a summer of uncertainty. His presentation will show how ASD is protecting its progress by keeping resources in the classroom and addressing the critical need of creating stability for Alaska’s schools.

Dr. Jharrett Bryantt joined the Anchorage School District (ASD) in the summer of 2022 as Superintendent. Prior to joining ASD, Dr. Bryantt served as the Houston Independent School District’s Executive Officer of Talent, leading critical human resources functions for more than 27,000 employees. During his nine years at Houston ISD, he served in numerous capacities, including Assistant Superintendent. Dr. Bryantt holds doctoral and master’s degrees in education leadership and policy from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Science from Yale University. He currently serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Alaska, the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and Anchorage Economic Development Forum Investor’s Council. Dr. Bryantt recently completed his national certification with AASA, the School Superintendent’s Association.
