The municipal bonds on the ballot in April include critical life and safety projects, as well as future-oriented investments. The bonds will fund parks and trails projects, critical road and drainage work, traffic calming measures, public safety investments, and upgrades to facilities from libraries to senior centers. The 2025 ballot will also include two levies: One for police vehicles, and one for municipal vehicles, including heavy machinery used in snow response. Hear Mayor LaFrance discuss the 2025 proposed bonds and levies at this "Make it Monday" forum.
Proposition 1 will fund security and safety upgrades at 40 schools and two support buildings across Anchorage. It will also improve school infrastructure and update ASD’s heavy equipment fleet to ensure schools remain safe, accessible and well-maintained for the community. ASD Chief Operating Officer, Jim Anderson, will speak on the projects on this year’s proposed school bond and what impact it would have on taxpayers.
