Event Description:

On his last Monday as Assembly Chair, Christopher Constant will deliver an annual report on the progress of the Anchorage Assembly, highlighting the impact of their work to spur new housing development, support small businesses, and increase public safety in our neighborhoods and on our roads, parks, and trails. In closing, Chair Constant will reflect on his nine years of service on the Anchorage Assembly and being part of the long, amazing local story shaped by the many business leaders, friends, and neighbors in the Anchorage community.

Christopher Constant has lived in the North Anchorage district since 1998. Professionally, Christopher is a licensed real estate agent as well as a Grants and Contracts Director for a statewide nonprofit substance abuse and behavioral health treatment provider. During his past involvement with the Fairview Community Council, including two terms as President, Christopher successfully led an effort to improve public safety in his neighborhood which was the catalyst that led him to consider serving as an Assembly Member.
Over nine years representing North Anchorage on the Anchorage Assembly, Christopher Constant has championed recognition of Alaska Native tribes, Government to Government relations with the Native Village of Eklutna, youth involvement in local government, quality public services for our community's most vulnerable, and equitable investments in our infrastructure. Perseverance is a quality that he admires most as can be seen by his favorite quote from The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, “The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.
