Since its founding nearly 80 years ago, the Alaska State Fair (ASF) has grown to be Alaska’s largest social and cultural event. Regularly hosting 300,000 visitors over a 12-day span each fall, the Fair celebrates the contemporary while staying connected to its early beginnings.
Alaska State Fair contracted with McDowell Group, an Alaska-based research firm, to conduct an analysis of the socioeconomic impacts of its year-round operations and its main event which occurs each fall.
Today we will hear from the Alaska State Fair as they present a summary of this study as well as fill us in on the 2015 Fair and how businesses participate in the event.
