During this Make It Monday, Shauna Hegna, Chair of the ANCSA Regional Association, will share about why Alaska Native Corporations were formed in Alaska and the profound impact Alaska Native Corporations have on Alaska’s economy and communities.

PLUS, a new member presentation from Locally Grown Restaurants.
 



Shauna Hegna serves as President of Koniag. Prior to joining Koniag in 2016, she was the Chief Administrative Officer for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and the Vice President of Shareholder Services for Afognak Native Corporation.

Shauna enjoys giving back to her community through board service. She is a board member of the Alutiiq Museum, Rural Energy Enterprises, ANCSA Regional Association, RurAL CAP Foundation, Housing Alaskans Trust, and UA Foundation.

Shauna holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alaska and a graduate certificate from Alaska Pacific University. Shauna is a YWCA Woman of Achievement, Anchorage Athena Society inductee, German Marshall Memorial Fellow, Native American Top 40 Under 40, and Alaska Top 40 Under 40.

Shauna is a Shareholder of Koniag and Afognak Native Corporation and enrolled tribal member of the Native Village of Afognak and Native Village of Port Lions. She is married to Josh and together they share their love of the mountains and Alaska’s wild and scenic rivers with their two children, Kai and Paxson.
