Lael Oldmixon, M.Ed
Executive Director, Education Trust of Alaska
Lael Oldmixon serves as the Executive Director of the Education Trust of Alaska, which offers Alaska’s three highly rated 529 plans, Alaska 529, T. Rowe Price College Savings Plan, and John Hancock Freedom 529.
Originally from New England, Oldmixon settled in Alaska in 2006 after moving to work for the University of Alaska system as a Residence Hall Director at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In 2007, she joined the Office of Admissions and the Registrar as its Associate Director. She then served as Director of Undergraduate Recruitment from 2008-2013 before moving to the Department of Finance in the University of Alaska system office. Since 2013, in addition to the 529 education savings programs, she has directed the University of Alaska Scholars and President’s Scholarship programs.
Oldmixon holds a B.A. in American Studies from Saint Michael’s College (2000) and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs (HESA) from the University of Vermont (2005).
