Event Description:

Did you know that 95% of malicious emails are ransomware? This presentation gives business owners critical information on how and why companies fall victim to this burgeoning crisis. Companies are losing billions - and in the last three years this trend has been going in the wrong direction. In this class we will arm you with what you need to know on how to keep your network, your employees and your data safe from cyber thieves.

PLUS! Our friends at the Food Bank of Alaska need our help. The warehouse is bare and 82 partner agencies in Anchorage are feeling the impact. Through the month of August, the Anchorage Chamber will be collecting food at ALL EVENTS. Bring your donations to any event, to the Anchorage Chamber office (1016 W 6th Ave., Ste. 303) OR join the Anchorage Chamber Food Drive Challenge! MARK MATHIS. ARCTIC IT

Career Summary
Throughout the course of my career one theme has been constant: working out how best to apply technology—whether for clients or the companies I worked for—to solve business challenges This holds true for my time in the Internet Service Provider industry where I worked with consumers and businesses to identify the best, most economical ways to access the Internet as a project and program manager, business analyst, or business owner. I joined Arctic IT in April 2005.

Favorite Quote
“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” - Henry David Thoreau

Hobbies
I enjoy experiencing new and diverse places, cultures, cuisine and music through travel (internationally as much as possible), spending time touring on two wheels (with my favorite toy – a Honda Goldwing), and cuddling up with my four-legged, furry kids whenever possible.

Fun Facts
My family spans four continents and I’ve been fortunate enough to visit with many of them several times over the years. Generally, I have “the next big trip” in my plans at any given moment.
